"That's a bit unusual but then, I enjoy sprinting and just go forward - I'm not defending that much," he added.

"I tell my centre-back 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to keep attacking.

"The running is what I'm seeking. It's good fun."

In addition to Cisse's 6 scores on debut, Ireland has netted 8 in three games for Wythenshawe, while Boyd scored five on his first match and Joleon Lescott, a defender by position, notched a triple in one game up front.

"The opponents were all really nice, shaking our hands after the match - it was like facing a group of normal guys.

"Now we are eager for the return fixture."
